Genetic Considerations in Plant Production

APCC’s Cape Cod Native Plant Growers Cooperative presents Matthew Garrambone of Beechwood Environmental for a discussion on the importance of genetic diversity in plant populations, the benefits of growing from seed, and an overview of genetic considerations in nursery production.
Matthew draws on a wealth of experience, including work with Native Plant Trust, the Northeast Seed Network, the Irvine Ranch Conservancy, and the Orange County Native Seed Partnership in Southern California. He brings a unique perspective to this topic, informed by his graduate research at University of California Irvine and his career experience in conservation, ecological restoration, and native plant and seed production.
