APCC Ecolandscape Consultation Program ~ take a step toward a more Cape-friendly landscape

Thank you for your interest! We are booked for the rest of the season.

If you want to make your yard friendlier to pollinators and wildlife, learn more about native plants and controlling invasive species, and how to conserve water and protect the Cape’s water quality, we can help.

APCC’s Ecolandscape Consultation program is aimed at helping homeowners make their landscapes more ecologically friendly by providing site-specific assessments and oodles of information for the DIYers or those that want to be more informed to hire the right landscape contractor. While we are not landscape designers or engineers, we do have the passion, experience, knowledge, and loads of resources to offer guidance to help you achieve your goals for a Cape-friendly yard.

Our team will meet with you and help with species identification, invasive species control recommendations, native planting suggestions, ideas for managing stormwater, and best land care practices. Following the consultation, you will receive a written report tailored to your property with the answers to your questions, and resource materials.

Ecolandscape consultations will be scheduled June through August, Monday through Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Consultations are up to 1.5 hours long and weather dependent. Our program is available for all 15 towns on the Cape.

The fee for consultations, accompanying resource materials, and written report is $350. The fee can be paid in advance by credit card at the time of scheduling or by personal check at time of the consultation.

Meet The Team

Erin Camire APCC Intern

Erin Camire, Ecolandscape Program Coordinator

Erin is a graduate of the University of Vermont with a degree in forestry and sustainable landscape design. Over the past four years, Erin has honed their skills in the identification of native plants of the Northeast, from the largest cottonwoods to the smallest spring beauties. All of our natives play a part in our modern landscapes, and Erin is overjoyed to discover how every plant can shine. Erin has experience consulting and creating designs for clients both big and small–from private landowners throughout Vermont, to farmers in the Hudson Valley, to most recently gardens around campus for the University of Vermont. With a strong environmental background, Erin hopes to inspire and bring people closer to the natural world through nature-based writing, ecological design, and of course an over-abundance of plant facts. Growing up in Wilbraham, MA, Erin is excited to be back in Massachusetts, and trade the rich Maple-covered hills of Vermont for the sandy dunes of the Cape, covered in sweetfern and bayberry.

Alan Ives APCC Intern

He is a proud Cape Codder and nature enthusiast, with an immense love for our local ecosystems and their unique organisms. His appreciation for native flora and fauna— and willingness to learn— made joining the APCC an easy decision for him and for APCC. He says he is excited to dive deeper into eco-friendly landscape practices and contributed to the APCC mission to protect and preserve Cape Cods natural resources!
